Dialectical Behavior Therapy for those struggling with lives in chaos and distress
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment model that helps people who struggle with patterns of chaos and distress learn new ways to cope. In DBT Skills Groups members study skill modules including Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness and Core Mindfulness in order to reduce impulsivity and self-harm behaviors and develop more emotionally stable lives worth living.
Skills Training in Affect and Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR) is a treatment that supports recovery from trauma by addressing both the need to make sense of a traumatic past as well as the need to build skills and motivation to live more fully in the present and future. Clients focus on emotional awareness, emotional regulation, understanding relationship patterns, building an autobiography and identifying current difficulties as based in past traumas and letting them go.
