This weekly meal group offers a supportive environment for individuals in recovery from eating disorders and disordered eating.
The group includes cooking and eating a meal together and group process after the meal. It is a psychoeducational group with emphasis on nutrition education to build skills essential for recovery.
The group is a safe container to practice real world recovery skills. It will provide an opportunity to build community, learn the basics of cooking, and practice ‘normal’ eating, all within a safe and supportive environment. Participants will learn to connect eating with enjoyment, relationships, and positive emotions.
The group is also open to those in recovery from chemical dependency issues, or for those who wish to gain a deeper understanding of the role nutrition plays to support brain health and restoration for recovery.
