Madison Johnson is a UCSF and Vanderbilt-trained psychiatrist who joined us in 2019. She has extensive experience with trauma-related disorders and addiction, as well as special training in psychodynamic therapy. She works with patients individually using talk therapy, mindfulness and judicious prescription of medication. She is most helpful for people who want to understand the deeper roots of recurring life problems.
Before coming to San Francisco, Madison piloted projects to improve access to Narcan, the opioid overdose antidote. Her current interests include meditation, de-prescribing medications, social justice, and the budding field of psychedelic medicine.
