The Stress and Dependence group is a process-oriented group that helps clients develop social skills, stress management and self- awareness via peer interaction, support and feedback.
Members learn that they are not alone in their suffering and foster a support community that will allow them to gain insight into their thoughts, feelings and behavior; and thus, will guide them toward a more fulfilling life.
This group is best suited for those struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma-related issues in addition to chemical and/or other dependence, which Nicole defines as a coping strategy that has stopped working and is potentially life threatening. The group supports clients who are abstinence-based as well as harm-reduction focused. We also welcome those who are ambivalent and just want support around their change process. In essence, we focus on the underlying drivers of unhealthy, possibly harmful, coping strategies in order to create a new way of managing life and its difficulties.
