A warm welcome to our newest intern, Ellen Shmunis.
Ellen is an Associate Marriage Family Therapist and has her Masters in Marriage Family Therapy (MFT) from the University of San Francisco. She focuses on developing a warm and contained relationship and then tailors a therapeutic approach specific to the client. Approaches she draws from are Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Strength Based, Somatic, Mindfulness, Psychodynamic, and Solution Focused Therapy. Ellen has experience providing therapy to adolescents and adults who struggle with family problems, communication skills, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, work/life balance, and relationship issues. In her spare time, Ellen likes to do Pilates and tends to her metropolitan garden.
She is supervised by Mind Therapy Clinic's Carol Dietrich, MFT #42449.
Mind Therapy Clinic's Internship Program in Clinical Psychology prepares interns to relate to clients and the community in constructive, positive, and effective ways and to utilize an integrated approach to therapy. Interns are trained by clinicians, who specialize in areas of treatment such as severe mental illness, eating disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, ADHD, addiction and trauma, to work effectively as team members in providing comprehensive and integrated care.
If you are interested in becoming an intern or would like to refer a patient who could benefit from receiving care from our interns on a sliding-scale based fee, contact Nicole Poell, PsyD, Mind Therapy Clinic's Director of Clinical Training.
