Hazal Selçuk holds an MA in Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), a BFA from The Boston Conservatory and a MFA from York University, Toronto. She is a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT), Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT), Registered Somatic Movement Educator and a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist (RSME/T).
She came to Mind Therapy Clinic as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT). Her internship background includes Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute, Center for Empowering Refugees, Lomi Psychotherapy Clinic, and San Quentin Prison.
Apart from creative arts therapies, Hazal is trained in a number of state-of-the-art approaches to couples therapy based in neuroscience and attachment theory, including psychobiological approach to couple therapy (PACT). She uses a sensorimotor psychotherapy informed approach to address trauma and attachment related issues.
Hazal is multilingual. Having lived in five different countries she is particularly attuned and sensitive to sociocultural dynamics in group, individual and couples work.
