Dr. Tonya Dowding (PsyD) is a postdoctoral fellow at the Mind Therapy Clinic. She received her degree in Psychodynamic Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). Tonya finds it effective to combine behavioral solutions with depth work, where changes have support to take root in consciousness. Since the unconscious ripples into all aspects of life, she has found that relational therapy addressing unconscious motives can help with most psychological difficulties.

Tonya is adjunct faculty at the California Institute of Integral Studies where she teaches in counseling psychology. She has a background in long term Tibetan meditation, and has spent more than a year in silent retreat. Tonya has taught workshops on psychology, spirituality & yoga globally and brings a multicultural perspective to her work. She has had specialized training in Jungian psychoanalytic therapy from the C. G. Jung Institute of San Francisco.

Some areas of focus include anxiety and depression, trauma, relationship issues, addiction and codependence, sexual therapy, etc., as well as dream analysis. Integrating the role of body, mind and spirit, Tonya is committed to a holistic approach to well being.
